Meet @dalhatgreen Dalhat Maitama Garba – Sustainability Enthusiast & Environmental Steward

This week, we spotlight Dalhat Maitama Garba, a Forestry graduate and MSc student in Sustainable Environmental Studies. His environmental journey began long before graduation.

Dalhat started as a passionate farmer and grew into a climate advocate. His dedication was sparked during undergraduate research on “Effects of Deforestation on the Socioeconomic Development of Wudil LGA.” That study revealed the critical link between deforestation and climate change.

In response, he founded the Cool Green Tropics Initiative. With his team, he planted over 300 viable trees without external funding. Beyond tree planting, he leads climate awareness campaigns, school sensitization programs, and community outreach. Each effort promotes sustainable practices.

For Dalhat, sustainability is more than a passion; it’s a responsibility. He is building expertise in GHG accounting, carbon auditing, and sustainable development. Dalhat proudly represents the “E” in ESG. He also holds firm to his belief that “with green, the Earth grins.”
