Engr. Nimot Muili is a highly respected Nigerian civil and environmental engineer, development advisor, and sustainability strategist, currently serving as an Associate at Arup, a globally recognized engineering, design, and consultancy firm. With a career spanning over 15 years, she is widely known for her leadership in climate-resilient infrastructure, urban development, and programme and project management across West Africa.

Engr. Muili holds a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Lagos and is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE). She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and a Lead Auditor in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, demonstrating her commitment to global best practices in quality and environmental management.

Her technical expertise and strategic vision have been instrumental in delivering complex infrastructure and development projects funded by multilateral donors, national governments, and private sector clients. From sustainable urban mobility planning to climate adaptation strategy, Nimot works at the nexus of engineering, resilience, and sustainability, designing solutions that address the pressing challenges of rapid urbanization, climate change, and inequality.

At Arup, Engr. Muili plays a central role in managing multi-sectoral projects that require high levels of coordination, stakeholder engagement, and technical innovation. She is especially passionate about climate-resilient cities, helping to shape infrastructure systems that are inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready. Her experience includes working with city governments, ministries, and donor organizations such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, and FCDO to deliver transformative urban infrastructure programs.

Beyond her technical and advisory work, Engr. Muili is a committed mentor and advocate for women in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). She actively engages in mentoring programs aimed at inspiring and guiding young women to pursue careers in engineering and related fields. Her mentorship philosophy emphasizes building confidence, technical competence, and leadership capacity among the next generation of African women professionals.

She is a vocal champion of inclusive development, advocating for solutions that are locally grounded, community-responsive, and environmentally sustainable. Her work continues to influence policy dialogue, infrastructure development, and professional practice in West Africa, making her one of the region’s most respected voices in engineering for development.
