The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) is inviting passionate young professionals to join its Abuja team as an Intern under the Programme Support function.
WACSI is a regional non-governmental organisation committed to strengthening the capacities of civil society organisations across West Africa, helping them achieve sustainability and greater developmental impact.
In line with this vision, the WACSI Node Nigeria, established in 2022, seeks an intern ready to build their civic awareness, sharpen professional skills, and contribute meaningfully to civil society initiatives in Nigeria.
Role Overview
Position: Intern – Programme Support
Location: Abuja, Nigeria (Onsite)
Experience Level: 0–3 years
Employment Type: Internship
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on policy and legislative issues.
- Gather information and prepare reports for policy meetings.
- Support planning and coordination of workshops and training sessions.
- Assist in developing policy advocacy training tools.
- Carry out general administrative support duties.
Required Skills
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong internet research abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in multicultural environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive attitude, and willingness to learn.
Preferred:
- Commitment to WACSI’s vision and values.
- Demonstrated interest in civil society and non-profit work.
🎓 Qualifications
- Minimum of a first degree in International Affairs, Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Development Studies, or related fields.
Additional Information
- The institute provides a monthly stipend for interns.
- Applicants with high proficiency in English will be given preference.
- Internship is onsite at the WACSI office in Abuja, Nigeria.
