Research Focus & Scope

Your PhD will explore:

  • How eco-industrialisation (i.e. environmentally sustainable industrial development) can be structured to deliver inclusive economic growth and broad-based regional benefits.
  • Policy, governance, and ecosystem-level frameworks that support sustainable industrial transformation.
  • Socio-economic and environmental trade-offs and synergies in regional industrial development and sustainability transitions.

Who Should Apply

Potential applicants should ideally have:

  • A bachelor’s (or master’s) degree in a relevant discipline — e.g. environmental science, sustainable development, economics, management, industrial engineering, regional planning, or a related field.
  • A strong interest in sustainability, regional development, industrial policy, and interdisciplinary research.
  • For applicants whose first language is not English, meet the University’s English-language proficiency requirements.
