Temitope Okunnu is a distinguished Nigerian environmental sustainability advocate, social entrepreneur, and educator. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Human Kinetics from the University of Lagos. Additionally, she has obtained an Executive Certificate in Professional Environmental Health from the National Environmental Health Association in Colorado, USA, and a Master’s Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Bergen, Norway.
She is the founder and CEO of FABE International Foundation, an organization dedicated to fostering an eco-conscious generation committed to environmental restoration, conservation, and sustainability in Nigeria.
With over 17 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Temitope has been instrumental in empowering thousands of women and youth with essential skills in environmental sustainability and the circular economy. Her initiatives have led to the education, training, and empowerment of over 7,800 women and 11,300 students, diverting more than 1 million tons of plastic waste from entering coastal waters across 176 schools and communities in Nigeria.
Under her leadership, FABE International Foundation has grown significantly since its establishment in 2008, currently providing employment opportunities for 105 individuals from economically disadvantaged communities. The organization’s programs are designed to encourage environmental sustainability through experiential advocacy, focusing on recycling, upcycling, and composting.
